Supporting Fiji’s parliament
In April, I participated in the Fiji Members of Parliament 2024 conference, as part of the United Nations Development Program parliament support project. This project is supported by the Australian, New Zealand and Japanese Governments.
Along with Lee Tarlamis MP, and fellow parliamentarians from Tonga, Bougainville and the Seychelles, we shared insights on our work as MPs, especially on parliamentary committees.
The Victorian Parliament has an ongoing partnership with the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji to share knowledge and insights about parliamentary processes. It was an honour to take part in the conference, and have so many engaging conversations with our Fijian counterparts.
