Lights, camera, action at Half Moon Bay

Lights, camera, action at Half Moon Bay!!!

A new TV series for ABC has been filming locally in Black Rock and at Half Moon Bay, and I recently paid a visit to the set on behalf of Minister Colin Brooks.

The Family Next Door is a screen adaptation of the book of the same name by local (and NY Times best selling) author Sally Hepworth.

Directed by Victorian Emma Freeman and starring Teresa Palmer and Bella Heathcote, the six-part series is supported by the Victorian Government through VicScreen.

The production is creating over 275 jobs for Victorians, and is injecting more than $9.7 million into the local economy.

As part of the funding arrangement, the scheme provides for two placement opportunities for aspiring local screen practitioners, with Dannika Horvat and Paige McLeod earning the coveted roles - congratulations both!

The Family Next Door will air on ABC TV and ABC iview in 2025.
